Newsworthy: Globe Star and Gentle Teaching

With a focus on family and cultivating a sense of community, GLOBE STAR serves many areas of Indiana in providing quality-of-life services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Jamie McCabe, Indianapolis-based Special Needs Living Magazine director, provides hope, inspiration, resources and community-building with a magazine she puts together and publishes each month for families with special needs.

After interviewing our director and learning about our services, Globe Star was invited to write about Gentle Teaching, the relationship-building approach put into practice for mentoring Individuals.

Mentoring a spirit of gentleness nurtures the unknowable capacity of individuals and their potential for making connections that support social-emotional learning processes, engaging one in the dialogue and discovery of companionship and community. ~Dr. Anthony M. McCrovitz, Director
