Globe Star Celebrating 20 Years in 2016

20YrAnniv_2016_with tagline-0827

This year of 2016 marks a 20-year anniversary for Globe Star. It was in 1996 that Executive Director Dr. Anthony M. McCrovitz, with his wife and Assistant Executive Director, Amanda, established the agency. It developed as an outcome of their worldwide vision to share Gentle Teaching with their own community in Chesterton, Indiana. They quickly outgrew their initial office that was set up in the basement of their home,  and opened up their new office doors at 621 Broadway. The agency has grown over the years, and today additional agency offices serve many counties throughout the state, with central locations in South Bend, Indianapolis and Warsaw.

You are invited to join us in building a campfire of community with the sharing of your stories. Learn more how your own voice can become kindling for the community as we celebrate 20 years of mentoring a spirit of gentleness!

With much gratitude to all of you who are taking this journey with us, and for the many, many people over the years who have been a part of our community in so many ways and who continue to inspire us.

What stories, anecdotes, special memories or photos have created meaningful connections for you and/or your loved ones, tracing the steps of learning about companionship and celebrating together, being safe and loved, engaged and loving? SHARE YOUR STORY

Our Mission

To mentor individuals with disabilities in achieving a quality of life that fosters interdependency within their own communities, building relationships with them that develop companionship and a sense of community (feeling unconditional acceptance and a sense of belonging with others).

Our Values

The design and delivery of our services and programs reflect six foundational values, shaping a culture of gentleness and supporting our vision and mission.

These competencies are regularly measured and assessed using a framework of gentle teaching, a quality of life model of service, and the processes of CARF accreditation.

• Quality of Services
• Social Justice
• Wholeness of Mind/Body/Spirit
• Interdependence
• Integrity
• Servant Leadership

CARF Accreditation

Where do we find compassion?

Compassion's presence dwells in our capacity to give and to receive. This ebb and flow dynamic of human interaction fulfills and sustains the nature and gesture of service.
