Globe Star’s Little Red Lighthouse is named after the famous Little Red Lighthouse in New York City (pictured). This lighthouse was built in 1886 and provided comfort and a true sense of being safe as one traveled down the Hudson River. Even though the city grew and the Great Gray Bridge became a way of traveling from one side to the other, the Little Red Lighthouse did not disappear. Today, if you travel to New York City to experience all of its famous places, this Little Red Lighthouse still provides travelers on the Hudson River with a safe journey to their destination. It is in this spirit of providing comfort and safety for ‘the traveler’ that we were inspired to create a respite house that would be a safe and secure place for a temporary stay, while also providing Individuals with opportunities to be an active part of their community through participation in meaningful activities.
